Yukings hybrid noise barriers use a two-layer structure: a perforated / louvered metal face with rock-wool absorption on the source side, backed by a heavy rigid panel for low-frequency mass-law insulation. This combination delivers the highest broadband insertion loss of any conventional noise barrier, ideal for high-speed railways, residential-sensitive highways and industrial plant boundaries.

Hybrid noise barriers combine the best of both absorptive and reflective technologies in a single multi-layer panel. The source-facing side uses a perforated or louvered metal face with high-density hydrophobic rock-wool core to absorb broadband sound from 125 Hz to 4 kHz. Behind this sits a heavy 1.5-3 mm rigid steel or concrete liner that provides mass-law low-frequency transmission loss. The result is a flat insertion loss curve delivering 35-45 dB across the full audible spectrum.

Explore Railway Barriers →Hybrid barriers are the right choice when your project has complex noise spanning both low frequencies (from heavy vehicles, industrial machinery or HSR aerodynamic rumble) and high frequencies (wheel-rail noise, aerodynamic tonalities). Where single absorptive panels lack strong low-frequency transmission loss and single reflective panels do not dissipate mid-high frequency sound, hybrid barriers provide flat broadband insertion loss of 35-45 dB across the full audible spectrum.
Yukings hybrid barriers are designed for standard heights from 3.0 m up to 5.0 m on conventional H-post bays. With additional structural reinforcement and optional stepped cantilever cap configurations we can build hybrid barriers up to 8.0 m in height for projects requiring advanced diffraction control. All tall configurations include project-specific structural calculations to 1.5 kN/m2 wind load.
Yes. Our hybrid barrier system supports 8 / 10 / 12 mm UV-stabilized polycarbonate transparent window modules. Windows install within the same 2.0/2.5 m H-post bay spacing and are acoustically matched to maintain the hybrid barrier's broadband insertion loss profile. They are particularly useful for driver visibility on curved highway sections and bridge parapets.
Yukings hybrid noise barriers carry CE marking with full EN 1793-3 acoustic performance dossier (35-45 dB insertion loss), EN 1794-1 structural testing, EN ISO 717-1 sound insulation (Rw 42-55 dB) and EN 13501-1 Class A fire rating. Quality management follows ISO 9001 and corrosion protection meets ISO 12944 C4-H. Full project-specific acoustic calculations and structural engineering reports are available for every customer.
